Becka Robbins

Becka has cared for kids in various settings for as long as she can remember. In addition to Kid’s Zone, Becka is a 1st and 2nd grade teacher in Edgerton. As a teacher at Kids Zone, Becka Robbins is excited to help folks meet their health and fitness goals by providing care for their children when they work out. When she is not doing kids stuff, she loves to run, read, hike and spend time with her family. Becka looks forward to meeting you all!

Erica Fessler

Erica Fessler is a senior in the Elementary Education program at UW-Madison.  She loves working with kids of all ages and has extensive experience in this area.  As a senior in high school, she worked as an educator for a local summer program called “Playgrounds” in Sheboygan, WI.  Throughout college, Erica worked for SwimWest as a swimming instructor as a Swim and Gym Camp Counselor.  Since then, Erica has worked as a nanny privately and ran the St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church nursery program.
In addition to school and work, Erica enjoys outdoor activities, working out, and spending time with family and friends.  Erica is very grateful and excited to have the opportunity to care for your children at Kids Zone and looks forward to providing a safe and fun environment for our member’s children to enjoy.

Lindsay Connell

Lindsay Connell has always loved working with kids and is excited to work part-time at Kids Zone. Lindsay is currently a pre-elementary education student at UW-Madison with a minor in Psychology. She grew up outside of Chicago and began school here in Madison in the fall of 2005. In her free time Lindsay enjoys dance, art, and spending time with her friends.
Her first experience with child-care facilitation was when she held a dance camp in her backyard for neighborhood kids. Since then, she has taken every opportunity to be surrounded by children; from camp counselor to babysitter to hospital volunteer to “big sister.” Lindsay loves the experiences she has had caring for children and cannot wait for many more in the future!

Ruth Barker

Ruth was born and raised in Neenah, in a family with one sister and two brothers. She has always loved working with children. Her childcare experience started with various babysitting jobs throughout her youth, elementary education classes while attending UW-Stevens Point, and she is now a certified childcare assistant. When Ruth moved to Madison in 2005, she began working as a nanny for a family in Middleton, where she continues to work in addition to Kids Zone.

Her interests include hiking at Devil’s Lake, walking her dog Sadee, and watching the Packers. She is very excited to be working at Kids Zone and looks forward to meeting you and your children.
Shayla Dvorak

Shayla Dvorak is a senior at UW-Madison and is majoring in Political Science and Women’s Studies. Shayla’s childcare experience began ten years as something of a child-care prodigy by babysitting her six younger siblings. In addition to babysitting for her large family, in the 5th grade she tutored reading at her elementary school. Since then she has also taught children at summer school programs and coached at children’s sports camps.

Outside of work, Shayla is a member of the UW varsity women’s rowing team, and enjoys running and Yoga. Shayla is excited to be part of the Kids Zone team because health and fitness have been a big part of her life since she was a child, and she feels Kids Zone is an awesome place for your children to be while you are working out.

Amy Spaeth

Amy Spaeth has been working at Kid’s Zone since April, 2007. Amy is originally from Wisconsin Rapids, but has called Madison her home since 2003. She graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and plans to continue her education to become an elementary school counselor. Amy comes from a large family, including 3 brothers and nearly 40 cousins. She started babysitting for her cousins at the age of 10 and she has always been very close to her family, which is where she developed her love for children.
In her spare time, Amy is a very active person. She is currently training to run a half-marathon this spring and aspires to move up to triathlons and full marathons. She also is an assistant coach for Madison Lafollette’s competitive cheer squad and conducts cheer camps throughout Wisconsin. She has choreographed and taught many state and national cheer and dance squads and her coaching has taken her as far as Australia!
Amy is excited to meet your children and hopes they enjoy their stay at Kid’s Zone as much as she enjoys caring for them.
