Dear
Friends:
As spring rains fall to give life
to flowers, trees and the green grass that is starting
to grow, Capital Fitness hopes that you, too, are preparing
for a busy spring and summer!
Once the sun comes out to melt the ice, many gym-goers
head outside to run, walk, cycle and play. They often don''t
return until the sky is clouded over and you need more
than a tank top to keep you warm. Many forget the benefits
of cross training in the gym, not only for performance,
but injury prevention and overall fitness.
It is easy to focus on one outdoor activity. It''s especially
easy living in Wisconsin where the sunny summer weather
seems to come as soon as it goes. Coming into the gym for
resistance training workouts can enhance outdoor endeavors,
even if it is once a week. Hitting the weights can prevent
and/or rehab injuries, combat overuse syndromes and keep
you motivated.
Cross training, which is maintaining a fitness routine
that involves multiple forms of exercise, can help you
improve areas of weakness. You can specifically target
strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and agility.
Improving these areas can greatly boost your performance
outside.
To learn more about enhancing your fitness with cross
training, set up a consultation with a personal trainer
today!
