Muscle Activation Techniques™ (MAT) can eliminate the muscle and joint pain that so many of us experience doing the activities we enjoy. Combining a unique biomechanical approach and range of motion analysis, MAT restores your body’s alignment, movement and performance levels. MAT was developed by Greg Roskopf, biomechanics consultant for the Denver Broncos.
MAT addresses muscle weakness at its root: inhibited muscles that may cause your body to compensate and become misaligned, resulting in pain or injury. Continuing an exercise program with inhibited muscles can compound your body’s compensation patterns, thus exacerbating the problem.
By reactivating muscles to function properly, MAT restores body alignment. Associated discomfort and motion limitations can be eliminated, so you are ready to enjoy the exercise and activities you enjoy. MAT focuses on the causes of your instability, not the symptoms.
Whether you are an athlete, baby boomer, or senior, MAT restores your movement and performance levels. Let MAT get you back in the game the way that you should be.
Our team of trainers are experienced in helping clients with weight loss, sport-specific training, corrective exercise, and general fitness. Capital Fitness trainers take into consideration both your personal goals and your body’s needs to tailor an exercise program specifically for you. The trainer then takes you through the program one-on-one (couples training is also available), teaching proper mechanics and supplying any needed motivation.
Functional Fitness and TRX classes offered by Capital Fitness allow members to exercise under the direction of a personal trainer at a very affordable price. Our Functional Fitness classes focus on movement while strengthening the body as a whole. TRX class participants use straps suspended from the ceiling and their own body weight for resistance to strengthen the whole body. The small-group class setting also helps motivate clients through camaraderie amongst participants.
TRX was originally designed by a Navy Seal who needed to be able to stay in shape with limited space and something small enough for sea bags. Since then, TRX has made its way into the fitness industry and is used by many pro sports teams, coaches, and top trainers around the world.
Simply put, TRX is a type of training that uses gravity and your own body weight to build strength, power, balance, coordination, flexibility, core and joint stability, all while preventing injuries, and increasing bone density. There are many advantages of using the TRX system.
